TOP 5 MUST-DO THINGS WHEN YOU MOVE IN TO YOUR NEW EDMONTON HOME

Edmonton homes for sale MLS Listings

1. REPLACE ALL THE DOOR LOCKS

This is the first line of defense in your new home. You do not know if there’s somebody else who has a duplicate key to the house so its better to be safe than sorry. To make the house more secure, hire a locksmith to install deadbolts.

2.  INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE

Yes, we know that before you bought your new home, you had your trusted home inspector thoroughly examine and review the state of the house. We’re simply including this in the list to remind you that it will never hurt to triple-check. It wouldn’t take more than 60 minutes. There could be pipes that were okay when your home inspector checked but can now be leaking for some unknown reason.

3. CLEANSE YOUR CARPET

Make sure to clean your carpet before you move any furniture and appliances. Simply hire professionals to do the work. $140 to get 3 rooms steamed cleaned is worth it.

4. CLEAN THE CABINETS

There could be insect or rat feces in the cabinets, you never know! The simple act of wiping your cabinets with disinfectants or non-toxic cleaners will insure that you family will be living a healthy life. It wouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.

5. GET RID OF ALL PESTS

Make your stay on your new residences a healthy and pleasant one by getting rid of all the pests living inside and out of your dream home. It’s recommended you hire professionals to exterminate all those unwanted guests.
