1. CLUTTER! CLUTTER! CLUTTER!
Your Edmonton property should be free with any and every personal belongings. Remove picture frames, statues, awards, medals, basically everything that has sentimental value off the counters, walls, closets, cabinets etc.
By providing just the basic furnishings, you’re allowing the potential buyer to visualize him or herself owning that property. There’s high probability that s/he has a different taste than yours so removing all the clutter will give you the opportunity to show the buyer that the property is waiting for him or her to be designed.
2. DARK HOUSE
There are times where Edmonton home buyers view properties in the evening, please avoid dimming your lights in the rooms. Its scary and would not help in selling your property. If there are broken lamps or bulbs, do your best to get it repaired before the scheduled visit.
Show potential buyers the true beauty of the home by making sure that every room is well lit. Do this and we’re pretty sure potential homebuyers would not have a hard time signing on the dotted line.
3. BARREN FRONT AND BACKYARD
Mad Max might like a barren backyard but we’re positive that potential Edmonton home buyers would turn down your home if it had one.
C’mon, your front yard is the first thing homebuyers will see so it’s beneficial for you to keep it clean and good looking, same goes with your backyard, if the landscaping is superb, the buyers will now that the house is for keeps!
4. NOT REMEMBERING HOME INSPECTIONS
Uh-Oh! Don’t let old age get into you. Just kidding! Home inspection is a very important task that should be at the top of your to-do list.
A thorough home inspection will help you determine the real status of your home. There might be leaks, cracks or damages that you are unaware of all these years! Your home inspector will be your lifesaver in uncovering this. Once all the flaws have been exposed, you’ll have the chance to fix, repair or replace all of it.
By fixing everything up, you’ll be depriving home buyers of ammunitions for a low-ball offer. Bad for them, good for yah!A healthy Edmonton home for sale makes for a fat wallet.
