Edmonton Homes For Sale MLS Listings

Buying or selling an Edmonton property can be a smooth process when you have the right real estate agent working for you. How do you know which real estate agent to contract with?

Here are some questions to ask before you choose a real estate agent.

Is It Their Full Time Job?

The very first question that you should ask a real estate agent is if they work full-time at real estate. If the answer is ‘no’ then you better move to the next option. Would you want someone working for you part time?  Make sure to hire an agent who will give you all the effort that you deserve.

What Makes You Different?

Real estate agents have different sets of skills, personalities and work ethics. When you are looking for a real estate agent, find one that has the guts to say ‘no’ to you. You want someone who is going to support and prioritize your interests which may involve saying ‘no’ to you.  This may happen when the agent knows you are not receiving the best deal even though you think you are!

How Will You Negotiate On My Behalf?

A good question to ask when looking for a real estate agent is how will your real estate agent negotiate on your behalf? Buying and selling Edmonton real estate involves expertise and a positive attitude. You want your agent to have strong negotiating skills for your benefit when the time comes for both parties to negotiate for an Edmonton home.

What if I’m Not Happy with Your Service?

Before you start working with a real estate agent, you should determine your options if you are not happy with the development of the buying or selling process. You have the right to move forward with another agent. There should be mutual respect if the agent-client relationship is going to work. You should not be afraid to tell your real estate agent that you are not satisfied with their service.  Most real estate agents will tell you that they are there to assist you in every way possible to make your Edmonton home buying or selling experience easier.  Unfortunately, there are some agents who don't live up to their promise.

Finding the right real estate agent can be a daunting task just like finding the right Edmonton home. It will take time and effort to find the best real estate agent that will fit your style and expectations. Take your time and choose wisely!

Joe Tolvay wrote: So many people these days get shorted when it comes to their real estate experience, whether it's the service they receive or "net in their pocket" when all is said and done. Asking these questions is crucial to make sure your experience in either buying or selling a home is a memorable one... and not of the bad kind.
