Realtor®Mag published last 8 May a study on how home ownership have direct link to an individual's happiness.
This Mother's Day, we'd like to share that study with you in the hope that it might encourage you to take the next step in owning an Edmonton home.
In a study done by OECD, their Better Life Index showed data that scientifically backs the assumption that home ownership does lead to a higher level of well-being. The index "gauges the quality of life worldwide by factoring in such things like housing, jobs, civic engagement, health and safety."
According to the authors (Aida Caldera Sanchez and Caroline Tassot) of the analysis about the index, the sense of happiness that comes from owning a home is closely tied to the human need for shelter (remember Maslow's hierarchy of needs?)
Status and independence are some of the main qualities that are linked to home ownership, according to the analysis.
The report also suggests that "On the well-being index, housing outperformed all the all other indicators monitored – like education, safety, and environment."
