It’s as simple as that! A clean and hygienic Edmonton property gets sold faster than a dirty and cluttered one.
Ever seen those shows where people we’re hoarding dirt inside their homes? (See Hoarders & Hoarding: Buried Alive) Those are just disgusting right? If you feel the same way, then we’re on the same page when we speak of the importance of a clean Edmonton home.
If you’re on the process of staging your home, here are a few tricks.
Okay, if it’s your first time, staging is a bit overwhelming (especially if your home is big!). Fear not, we’ll make it easy for you.
Begin with de-cluttering. Those items that don’t serve as decorations should be removed and packed away. The main idea here is to make the rooms look bigger and to have the potential buyer feel and imagine that they own the place.
Sad as it may seem but you have to also remove personal belongings such as family pictures, personal collections, magazines, books and toys. Really, anything that the potential buyer doesn’t need to see, you have to remove it.
Once the rooms are de-cluterred, the next order of business is to mop, wax and vacuum the floors. Scrub the walls and baseboards. If need be, repaint the walls too.
The windows should sparkle, inside and out and the remaining furniture should free from dust and be polished.
Bathroom and kitchen walls and floors are prone to have mildew and grime (eww!) DO everything you can to remove these things!
Lastly, a good scent that will make your home smelling good is your last trick you can use to make potential buyers make an offer.

If you are going to stage your home for better showings, faster sales and typically higher net, remember that contractually everything must be in writing what stays and what doesn't but you may want to leave some things in the home as negotiation points to encourage offers.
